Provides assistance with NYU admission, as well as academic and financial support, to traditionally underserved, low-income New York State students.

Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP)

Aims to increase access by minority or disadvantaged students to academic programs that prepare them for scientific, technical and health-related professions.

Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP)

Provides pre-college enrichment for African American, Hispanic/Latino, Alaskan Native or American Indian and economically disadvantaged White or Asian middle and high school students.

Center for K-12 STEM Education

Collaborates with K-12 schools, teachers and students to increase access to high-quality learning experiences, STEM-focused higher education, and related careers.

High School and Middle School Programs

Offers immersive academic experiences for students in grades 5 through 12 to help them hone their talents, build academic portfolios, earn college credit, and boost their preparedness for college.

Stern: Breakthrough Scholars Leadership Program

Equips a select group of highly talented and high-performing NYU Stern undergraduate scholars from diverse backgrounds with the skills and relationships needed to grow and excel at school and in their professional careers.

Steinhardt: Scholarships for Underrepresented Populations

Offers scholarships to graduate-level students with diverse backgrounds, including African Americans, Latinx people, Native Americans, people with disabilities, first-generation college grads, LGBTQ+ people, and other underserved communities.

NYU GPH: Pathways into Quantitative Aging Research Summer Program (PQAR)

Increases the participation of underrepresented minority groups in the fields of Biostatistics and quantitative Public Health, with a collaborative focus on the diseases and processes of aging. Students receive formal and informal instruction, mentored research, and extensive professional development activities, with a culminating symposium. For lasting impact, follow-up mentoring, continuing research and professional development is ongoing.

Institute of Education Sciences-Funded Predoctoral Interdisciplinary Research Training (IES-PIRT)

Recruits fellows primarily from groups underrepresented in the education sciences and provides them with the research knowledge, professional skills, and practical experience needed to assist U.S. policymakers with tackling our nation’s pressing education issues.

Institute of Human Development and Social Change (NYU Steinhardt)

Social Perception, Action & Motivation Lab (SPAM Lab)

Conducts scientific studies of motivational behaviors and strategies, and applies the findings toward improving the conditions of underserved populations—those who are at an economic disadvantage, who are the first to attend college, who are working in fields where they are underrepresented, or who are members of racial or ethnic minorities facing bias and discrimination.

Research Education in Oral Health Sciences (REOHS)

Offers an immersive summer experience including research, professional and educational workshops, and faculty and peer mentorship, in order to encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue further studies or careers in research and to increase representation in the oral health sciences.
